Hello! this is the fourth time I have made an “About Me” blog post for class, I always know I’m going to take another class so I do the smart thing and delete it, but now I know I’m never taking another class again after this semester. So, Im an advanced amateur photographer, not a professional quite yet but soon as I start making a bit more money I will consider myself a professional.

Im into both main types of photography, both film (35mm) and Digital. My main cameras are a Nikon D800 (digital) and a Minolta XG-1 (35mm film, one shown in the photo above). Im excited to learn more and shoot as much as possible to better my understanding of photography.

So while I was in Disney over the winter break, i brought my Minolta XG-1 with 10 rolls of film and ended up shooting 9 of them, 7 color and 2 black and white (shown in the previous post). 5 of the rolls were Fuji Superia 400, one was Kodak Pro Image 100 (a film stock im definitely going to be using more in the future), and then a expired roll of Kodak Max.

I got the chance to shoot senior photos for a close friend this past week. Here are some of my personal favorite photos from the session.

Disney with Black and white film, what is there not to love?

All photos were shot with a Pentax K-1000, very simple and wonderful camera, the problem is the lens was a basic lens and was not a split prism so I had no clue if i was fully in focus, but things worked out well I would say.

Went to South Dakota, took my film camera, you know the drill at this point. Shot with a Minolta XG-1, using some Ektar 100, Fuji 400, and then another film stock that i just cannot remember (should probably keep track of these things, i knew it was expired).

Took some photos at antelope island with a new film stock and my girlfriend for her first time ever being there. Its never good seeing light leaks in cameras but sometimes it brings in character. All photos taken with a Minolta XG-1 using Kodak Ektar 100.

Today’s gimmick was simple lighting, just a standard studio hair light and then an LED so the front of the guitars were also lit. All photos were shot with a Sony a77, and edited in Adobe Lightroom.
